The glorious Ribbon Eels have a unique ability to change genders while they mature. They are all born males and black in color with a yellow fin. The one that I have painted has reached its adulthood and changed its color to blue, while its developing female reproductive parts. How cool is that? I also painted some scattered and hiding Clownfishes for this one to show how the Ribbon Eel preys on them.
