Mundane Description of the Ornament:
An original gouache artwork painted on both sides of a 3" dia ceramic ornament. It comes varnished with 1 coat of Krylon Kamar spray varnish and 2 coats of Liquitex matt varnish to ensure protection from sunlight over time. The ornament comes with a matching, handmade velvet silk lace, bought from Fringe and Rose, a small business based in LA, California. The artwork is double sided and can be hung either way.

An interesting glimpse into the Heritage:
Ajrakh is a textile made by block print method using resist-dye technique with natural dyes. It is believed that the craft dates back to the medieval times and has moved along several places along the Indus river (now in Pakistan) for the ease of washing the fabric. Now, the heart of Ajrakh predominantly lies in the state of Rajasthan in India.
 
Paan means Leaf in Hindi and Azarak (the root word) means Blue in Persian. Laces of Indigo and its subsequent tones can be seen in a lot of motifs and patterns in Ajrakh fabrics.

Due to differences in monitor screens, color may appear slightly different in person than on screen.
Hanging hardwares are not included. Comes with a matching lace to hang.
