This is a reproduction of the original painting triptych from the collection called 'Birds and Biomes' that was done with gouache and embroidery. It has been printed on acid free, heavy 88lb. Polar Matte Paper using a professional fine art printer. These are greeting cards that are 4"x6" in size when folded and 8"x6" in size when opened. The inside of the cards is left blank and is perfect for handwritten notes.
This is a set of 3 greeting cards. There is an option of selecting your choice of envelope. The set comes with small info cards that describes each artwork.
Info card (Toucans): One of the most vital birds to keep the rainforests alive, Toucans are playful birds with large, colorful beaks that they use dexterously to peel and eat fruits. I tried to capture their playfulness with their peculiar head tilts along with their enthusiastic calls.
Info card (Scarlet Ibis): The only part of the Scarlet Ibis that is not scarlet are their black wing tips. National bird of Trinidad and Tobago, Scarlet Ibis are quiet birds, minding their own business while occasionally grunting here and there. One of my favorite color palettes to play with, the contrast of the plumage against the lush greens looks so stark and crisp.
Info card (Scarlet Macaws): The largest parrots in the world, Scarlet Macaws are known for their intelligence in mimicking human sounds and learning tricks. Their length from beak to tail at 33 inches is a canvas of vibrant colors and beauty. In order to capture their social behavior, I tried to paint a scene where they are trying to poke their beaks into Ibis’ business.
Each greeting card is made to order, so please allow 2-3 business days prior to shipping.
