An interesting glimpse into the Heritage:

Another block print technique originating in Rajasthan is called Bagru print because it flourished in a small town called Bagru. Dyes are stamped on textile with hand carved wooden motifs in various colors. The local artisans were called Chippas (Chi meaning to dye and pa meaning to leaving something to bask in the sun). The part of the town is still called the Chippa Moholla (quarters) where the printing is carried out.

Veli represents a vine of leaves in Marathi. Indigo dye is widely used in the Bagru technique of Block Printing, mostly done on cottons.
